Regina Police Service suspends officer, charges him after internal investigation

A Regina police officer is facing charges following an internal investigation.

Sgt. Robert Semenchuck has been charged with Breach of Trust and Unauthorized Use of a Computer. Police say he accessed internal databases for personal reasons and used the information to pursue relationships.

The Regina Police Service began investigating in early 2023 after a public complaint. Semenchuck was suspended and lost database access during the investigation.

Following a review by Crown prosecutors, charges were laid on March 11. Semenchuck, who has 22 years of service, is scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on April 22.
