A major winter storm will sweep across southern Saskatchewan on Thursday and Friday, bringing snow, wind, and ice.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement in advance of the forecast storm.
Snowfall will begin early Thursday in western Saskatchewan and spread east toward the Manitoba border by evening. Areas from Saskatoon to Yorkton could get 10-20 cm of snow by Friday night.
Strong easterly winds will create blowing snow , reducing visibility. A band of freezing rain may also form near Kindersley and move east through Regina and into southeastern Saskatchewan, making travel slippery and dangerous .
