The Saskatchewan Ethics Commissioner has ruled in favor of Regina South Albert MLA Aleana Young in a conflict of interest case.
The Sask. Party alleged Young promoted her business, Takeaway Gourmet , using her MLA website and government resources.
However, Commissioner Maurice Herauf found no breach of the Conflict of Interest Act, accepting Young’s testimony that she was simply sharing her personal life with constituents.
Although Herauf said Young came close to the line, he ruled there was no intent to gain from the posts. He urged all MLAs to exercise caution with personal social media content.
