
Sunday evening the Juno Awards were handed out in a very splashy, pro-Canadian gala event in Vancouver hosted by Michael Buble. Among the the winners included Saskatchewan’s own Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys, winning Traditional Roots Album of the Year for “Retro Man: More and More.”
The big winner of the evening was pop sensation Tate McRea, winning Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for “Exes,” Album of the Year for “Think Later,” and Pop Album of the Year.” Several country artists were also nominated for Juno Awards this year, however it was Josh Ross who walked away with the Country Album of the Year Award for “Complicated.”
Canadian country music legend Anne Murray was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at last night’s event.
The Juno’s will return to Hamilton in 2026 for a seventh time March 26th to 29th at the new Hamilton Arena. The new facility is expected to open later this year and offers state of the art acoustics, better seating options, improved sightlines, exclusive clubs and suites, and much more.

Rock Album of the Year: “Set Your Pussy Free” from Nobro
