The City of Regina is moving forward with the second phase of the Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project.
The project aims to modernize the area by replacing underground infrastructure, improving sidewalks, adding better lighting, and creating multi-purpose outdoor spaces. The work is part of the City Centre Revitalization Plan, which focuses on making Regina’s downtown area safer, more walkable, and more inviting.
Construction for the 2025 season will begin on April 7 and last two to three months. Full road closures will take place between Albert Street and Lorne Street, as well as from Scarth Street to Broad Street.
While the construction may cause delays, businesses in the Warehouse District remain open. To help residents access them, pedestrian walkways and free parking in the Yards Neighbourhood will be available. Parking access will depend on the construction phase, and the City will provide updates.
Transit routes on Dewdney Avenue will move temporarily to 8th Avenue during construction. Drivers can check Regina.ca/roads or popular navigation apps for real-time updates on road closures. The City hopes these improvements will create a vibrant and accessible city centre.
