CAA Saskatchewan’s Worst Roads campaign returns this spring, giving road users a chance to speak up about road safety.
From April 8 to 29, drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and passengers can nominate and vote for the worst, unsafe roads across the province. With more than 250,000 km of roads in Saskatchewan, this campaign helps highlight where problems exist. Voters can submit their choice online once per day at caask.ca/worstroads. On April 30, the final top ten list will be announced.
Moose Jaw is the campaign’s first stop. The city had four roads on last year’s top ten list, including 13th Avenue NW. CAA’s Roving Reporter visited Moose Jaw to hear from locals and gather stories that will be shared weekly on YouTube.
During the campaign, CAA will post photos, videos, and updates on social media to raise awareness. A Google Map tool will show where people are voting. Concerns often include potholes, crumbling pavement, poor signage, and traffic problems.
People who vote can also win a $1,000 Shell gift card through a random draw. CAA will share the voting results with government and community leaders to encourage road improvements and help make Saskatchewan’s roads safer for everyone.
