REGINA–A charge of first degree murder has been laid, days after a man died on Victoria Avenue.
Police were called out to the 800 Block of Victoria Avenue along with EMS around 5:30 am last Thursday (April 24th). On arrival a man was found injured, but he died a short time later.
The Regina Police Service Forensic Unit as well as the Major Crimes Unit were brought in, working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Not long after police announced this was a homicide case.
Now, police have charged 33 year old Kelli Stonechild with first degree murder.
Stonechild will make his first court appearance in Provincial Court in Regina Monday morning.
The name of the victim, the third murder victim of the year in Regina, is not being released at the request of the family.
