Seeding of the 2021 crop has started in scattered parts of southern Saskatchewan.
Provincial crops extension specialist Matt Struthers says a few farmers in the southeast and southwest have started spring planting this week.
He says farmers have been seeding peas and some other crops.
He says dry soil conditions are a key concern.
Struthers expects many farmers in southern Saskatchewan will begin seeding operations this coming week and a week or so afterwards in northern areas.
