Saskatchewan sees 22 more deaths and 229 more hospitalizations due to COVID

Saskatchewan has seen an increase in its COVID hospitalizations.

The Government of Saskatchewan released a COVID-19 report for the first time in almost a month, covering the period of June 26 to July 16.

The data shows that 229 people were admitted to the hospital due to COVID. On average, 76 people were hospitalized per week, compared to 67 hospitalizations in the week of June 19 to 25.

15 of the 229 were admitted into the ICU.

The report also shows that 22 more people died, with eight deaths happening between September 5, 2021, and June 25 of this year than were previously reported.

In total, 628 new COVID cases were reported.

The province also saw its three-dose vaccination rate increase from 42.3 per cent to 44.6 per cent.
