Agriculture minister David Marit has announced an extension to the Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program deadline.
Producers have faced difficulties sourcing material and contractors to construct water development projects within the time limit.
So producers who plan to claim over 50 thousand dollars in rebates are asked to submit a preliminary application by March 31st to complete their projects and submit for rebate by September 30th.
The previous deadline was March 31st for completion.
Marit says it is important to give farmers more time to complete their water projects.
Under the program for dugouts, wells and pipelines, livestock producers maximum rebate rose to 150 thousand dollars.
The first 50 thousand is a 50-50 cost share and the remaining 100 thousand dollars is a 70-30 government-producer cost-share.
