Sidewalk Days are back in Moose Jaw starting tomorrow.
For those who aren’t familiar, over 200 vendors, and thousands of people, will hit main street Moose Jaw to wander and enjoy what the city and areas businesses.
“What we do is we close down nine city blocks, so it closes right from Manitoba (Street) right across the street from the train station,” said Tourism Moose Jaw’s Jackie L’Heureux-Mason. “And we close right up by Panda Tire, which is almost to Ross Street, which really does encompass 97 per cent of our downtown. So it’s a pretty big deal down here to say the least when your entire downtown is blocked off.”
Sure, the downtown is blocked off but there’s vendors and businesses congregating on Main Street, offering everything from a career in the Canadian Forces to freshly squeezed lemonade and mini-donuts.
And if that’s not enough to get people off their couches, there’s a children’s village for families and entertainment at various venues through till Saturday afternoon. L’Heureux-Mason with Tourism Moose Jaw said that Sidewalk Days has been a big drawing card for families with the children’s area.
“It can sometimes be a bribe for some parents, you know we’ll take a look at some things and then we’ll go to the children’s village,” she said. “But it’s a huge stop. We see thousands and thousands of children over the three days and enjoy all the free rides courtesy of the Moose Jaw Kinsmen and Moose Jaw Ford.”
Sidewalk Days runs until late Saturday afternoon, right down Main Street Moose Jaw.
