Valis, who was listed by the team in February 2020, has been competing in the U16 AAA program of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League with the Colorado Thunderbirds. He has collected three points in four games this season.
In 2019-2020 with the Thunderbirds’ U15 program, he picked up 14 goals and 29 points in 20 games.
“We’ve seen Borya play multiple times this season and have been happy with the progress he’s shown, particularly with his ability to score. We look forward to seeing him in Regina, as he continues to advance his hockey career,” said John Paddock, Pats vice president of hockey operations and general manager.
According to the Pats, the Denver, Colorado native gains access to two years of scholarship funds and will also receive additional scholarship funding for every year played in the league.
An official start date for the 2020-2021 WHL season will be announced once final approval is received from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
