How are you coping with January so far?

January can be a month of mixed reviews. Some like this month, others aren’t so fond of it. It’s easy to get down and out in January but I don’t think it’s all that bad because it gives a person a chance to wipe the slate clean from the previous year and build up for a much better year.

I enjoy January because it’s a month to get back into a routine. While the hustle and bustle and excitement of the Christmas season is fun, it’s a relief to get back into a rhythm with a normal schedule. I’m not just talking about work either, it’s nice to be able to get back on schedule in personal matters as well, specifically a gym schedule! The latter half of 2019 was a little bit tough on my belt and waistline, Christmas certainly didn’t help, so I’m very happy to get back to being active. Although salads don’t taste nearly as good as chocolates, pies, and tarts! Some day I hope Scientists develop cauliflower that tastes like a bowl of apple crisp. If they can develop flying cars, I’m sure they can develop a cauliflower-apple crisp hybrid!

I can understand how some may feel glum this time of year as well. The Christmas bills come in, the decorations are coming down, and the weather is not great (like today), but if you really look around it’s not all that bad. First off, Waskimo Winter Festival is nearing, there are some incredible concerts over the next few months in Regina and Moose Jaw, we’re only about 5.5 months away until summer, and before you know it Country Thunder will be here!

January isn’t all that bad, but if you do happen to feel those January “blahs” right now, here are a few tips to help combat them. Remember, patio season is just a couple more months away!
