Farmers Almanac forecasts bitterly cold snowy winter in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan residents could face a tough winter again this coming year.

The editor of the Farmers Almanac, Peter Geiger, says weather will turn cold in late fall.

He says the coming winter will be bitterly cold with heavy snowfall across the Canadian prairies.

The almanac forecast is based on a century old formula of sunspot activity and other astronomical observations.

Geiger calls the prairies a hibernation zone this winter.

The almanac is available on-line at Farmers almanac dot com.
