Prince Albert police say an RCMP officer has been arrested after the death of a man on Tuesday night that is being considered a homicide at this time.

In a release, police say the officer was not on duty at the time of the incident but he and the victim are known to one another.

The body of the 26-year-old was found in a wooded area within the city.

An independent observer has been asked to oversee the investigation which is being led by Prince Albert police.
