Alta RCMP investigate major cattle fraud

Alberta RCMP are investigating a major cattle fraud.

RCMP investigation found two people had entered a partnership and one person invested over 1 million dollars to purchase cattle and equipment from a company.

The investigation found a complainant did not receive any payments and that a quantity of the calves had been sold, contrary to the terms of the partnership.

Police have charged 44 year old Alton Wood of Drayton Valley with fraud over 5 thousand dollars and uttering a forged document.

Police say Wood has been involved in similar business relationships that resulted in other incidents that are before the courts.
