Record Year for Queen City Ex

After going two years without the full Queen City Ex experience, it seems people returned to the fairgrounds at the REAL District in large numbers.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of workers and vehicles taking down the fair’s rides and other stages, REAL president and CEO Tim Reid shared the record numbers the QCX generated this year.

Attendance was the highest in the fair’s 138 year existence with 278,306 people walking through the gates during the five day Ex.  That’s more than the entire population of Regina.

“Our team is absolutely blown away by the reaction to this year’s exhibition,” said Reid. “Thank you to everyone, young and old, that chose to celebrate fun at our fair. We know the infinite memories made will that last a lifetime. The community support was amazing to see and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!”

“I want to thank our sponsors who stepped up to support this year’s QCX. As always and forever, we can’t do this without you,” said Tim Reid,” To our staff and partners, especially SaskTel, what an amazing five days. You helped thousands of people from across our province have the chance to turn up the fun during a staple of Saskatchewan summers, the QCX, and they will not soon forget it.”

The fair set to new highs in other ways too.  Attendance at the “Pile o Bones” Rodeo was over 7700, a new record.

A huge crowd filed in to Confederation Park for music star Jason Derulo, a crowd REAL believes is the biggest ever in Confederation Park.

Next year’s Queen City Ex will run from August 2nd to the 6th
