Heat warning covers large area of Saskatchewan

AC units will be getting a workout today as a heat warning covers all of south and west-central parts of Saskatchewan.

The warning goes up to North Battleford, extends down into Leader and Maple Creek in the southwest, then stretches east towards Moose Jaw, Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head and Carlyle. Other areas under the warning include Estevan, Weyburn, Assiniboia, Swift Current, and Kindersley.

Environment Canada says temperatures are expected at 35 degrees and overnight lows near 16.

They say the hot conditions are expected to persist this week.

Drink plenty of water, stay in a cool place, and watch for signs of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
