(Jamie) Sunday Morning Smiles

Sunday morning I was up early and ready to run my usual errands. My wife had a special supper planned so I had to make a few stops to buy what she was looking for. I had to pop into Walmart to pick up a few things so, seeing as it’s open at 7, I decided Grasslands would be my first stop

While I was in Grasslands I thought I’d drop in to Cobs to buy a fresh loaf of sourdough bread. The only place I know to get fresh sourdough bread at 7 o’clock on a Sunday morning is Cobs. It’s funny, but the only time I seem to go to Cobs is early Sunday mornings. There is nothing like the smell of a bakery at the start of a day. Mmm. It all smells so good.

Not only does it smell wonderful, the staff is always so friendly. Whenever I’ve been there the counter has been staffed by young people who apparently don’t mind getting up to go to work that early on a Sunday morning. They are so friendly with an endless stream of smiles. While most people their age would bristle at the fact they have to get up early to go work on a weekend morning, these people seem to thrive on it.

It seems that everywhere I go to spend money there is a young person behind the counter making me feel like I’m interrupting their day. So, when I run across a couple of young people who treat people well with a smile, I like to acknowledge them.

So, to the Sunday morning staff at Cobs, job well done! I’ll be back for more.
