Teen charged in stolen vehicle case: RPS

A Regina teen is facing a charge of stolen property connected to an incident where a Regina Police officer was seriously injured.

At about 3:45 Sunday afternoon, officers were called to the Cornwall parkade for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers found the 2005 GMC Jimmy unoccupied and confirmed it was stolen.

Two men soon returned to the car with a 15-year-old walking the other direction upon seeing police .

RPS says the teen was later identified and charged in connection to the stolen truck.

The 15-year-old cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but he is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and breach of undertaking.

He made his first court appearance Tuesday morning.

The other man involved is facing attempted murder charges.
