City of Regina keeping busy with people wanting to know about their water

The City of Regina says a number of calls have been received since word came down earlier this week about high levels of lead-tainted water in some homes.

Kurtis Doney with the water and sewer department says they would usually get five calls a month, but since the report was released Monday they have gotten close to 600 by the end of day Wednesday.

Doney says 95 percent of the water connections in Regina are lead-free and that our water is safe.   75 percent of the calls received have resulted in the homeowner being told their water connection is fine.

He adds homes at risk are ones built before 1960.
