Harvest reaches 91 percent across Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan farmers made limited harvest progress this past week.

Provincial crops analyst Cory Jacob says a few combines were running this week, but harvest is stalled around the 91 percent complete mark, up maybe one percent from a week ago.

He says recent snow has put a halt to most harvest work.

He says some farmers may not finish harvest this fall and will have to combine crops in the spring.

Jacob says production is above average for many farmers but quality has suffered from extensive fall moisture.

He estimates 3.5 to 4 million acres of crop remain to be harvested in Saskatchewan, with much of it in the east central and southeast region.
