City doing what it can to keep employees safe due to COVID-19

City employees still have to do their thing during the COVID-19 pandemic with some work starting to ramp up as the weather gets nicer.

City manager Chris Holden says as it has been right from the beginning, making sure staff and the public are protected is key.

“You should see workers practicing social distancing, but you should also know there are some duties done where that can’t happen.” Holden said. “In those instances, we give them all the personal protection equipment that they need.  If a worker is by themselves, it is not mandatory for him or her to wear a mask unless it is required like those working on keeping mosquitoes under control that are spraying.

He adds all employees are also asked to self-declare before coming into work and that if they are not 100 percent they are not to come in.
