It was a slow start for the Regina Thunder, but in the end they emerged victorious with a 36-20 win over the Calgary Colts on Sunday.
The Colts were jumped ahead of the Thunder in the first quarter after Regina opened up with a field goal.
In the closing moments, the Thunder pulled ahead 13-10 when quarterback Carter Moberg found running back Ryland Leichert in the end zone for a touchdown pass.
Calgary tied the game in the third quarter with a field goal. Leichert would put Regina ahead with a rushing touchdown late in the quarter.
The Thunder would add a field goal to pull ahead by ten points before the Colts closed the gap within three points with a 65-yard touchdown pass.
Running back Justin Reiger would add a pair of late touchdowns to put the game away for Regina to make the final, 36-20.
Regina will head back to Alberta next week when they visit the Edmonton Wildcats.
