A man has been recovered and taken to hospital but a woman remains unaccounted for, after a vehicle rollover last night two kilometres south of Pagan Lake at the Beaver River Bridge.

A truck drove off the bridge before 7 p.m. last night and was completely submerged in the Beaver River.

A man was standing on top of the vehicle and was pulled to shore by RCMP officers with rope, and then transported to hospital with injuries.

RCMP say that due to the water current and depth of 9-10 feet, first responders are unable to enter the river safely to search inside the truck.

They are concentrating on pulling the truck out of the river while the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team will assist with the ongoing search in the water.

Highway 903 near Meadow Lake remains closed.
