New U of S study to track mineral distribution in plants

A new University of Saskatchewan study will track mineral distribution in plants.

The research team is led by Dr. Brian Ham, an assistant professor in biology.

Real-time imaging will be used to study how a live plant’s vascular system distributes minerals under nutrient-stress conditions.

Information gathered will help plant breeders develop more efficient varieties that reduce costs for farmers and increase environmental sustainability.
