This morning was one of those mornings that makes getting up early worth it.

It was one of those drives in to work that I wish lasted a little longer. The stars were out and a beautiful moon hung in the sky with just a light wind.

It’s such a different mindset getting up early in the summer as opposed to the winter. This time of year, especially on a morning like this morning, I seem to bounce out of bed and into the shower. I actually look forward to getting outside and driving in to work. During the winter months, it’s the exact opposite. I drag my a** out of bed. It’s all I can do to make it to the shower and it’s even harder getting dressed knowing I’ll soon be heading out to minus temperatures.

I’m sure we’ve all had one of those days where you stop, look around, and say to yourself, “Man, it’s good to be alive.” Well, this morning was one of those mornings. Makes you happy to be above ground!

These are the mornings I have to put in my memory bank and remind myself of when I’m waking up on a cold February morning!
