Three people injured in head-on collision west of Humboldt

Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision Wednesday on Highway 5, about 10 kilometres west of Humboldt.

Initial information indicated a head on collision took place, trapping victims inside of the wreckage. RCMP noticed three people were out of the vehicle and one was still trapped inside.

EMS and Fire crews from Humboldt were on scene and were able to extract the driver of one of the vehicles.

Four people were taken to hospital. Two men who were driving the vehicles are still in hospital with serious injuries, and another man is still being treated for undetermined injuries, also in hospital in Saskatoon. A boy involved in the incident has since been released from hospital.

The highway was closed for the afternoon, but re-opened at about 5:00 Wednesday night.
