The Regina Pats will have the 10th overall selection when the Western Hockey League holds its prospects draft in December.
The Spokane Chiefs will have the first pick followed by Tri-City with Brandon holding the three and four picks that did belong to Victoria and Moose Jaw.
Swift Current will also have two first-round selections as they will pick 6th and 7th. The Broncos had Portland’s pick.
Since 1990, the Pats have had 11 previous top 10 picks. Regina’s 10th overall selection will be just the third time in the last decade the Pats have secured a top 10 pick. Connor Bedard was taken first overall in last year’s Draft, as the first exceptional status player in WHL history. Prior to that, Sam Steel was selected second overall in the 2013 Draft.
