The NDP is raising concern about the level of government debt in Saskatchewan.

Opposition critic Trent Wotherspoon says the provincial debt has tripled under the SaskParty government and is at 22 billion dollars.

He says the government is on a dangerous and reckless path.

Finance minister Donna Harpauer says the debt to GDP ratio is the third lowest in Canada and Saskatchewan has a triple A credit rating.

She says a growing province requires infrastructure and the operating debt is still below the level of the former NDP government.
