Teen charged for coffee-throwing incidents near east-end Walmart

A 14-year-old is facing assault charges after two coffee-throwing incidents this summer.

The Regina Police Service says officers were called to the Walmart parking lot on Prince of Wales Drive at about 9:05pm on July 30th.

Police say a group of young men asked another man for the time, threw coffee on him and ran away to another parking lot.

A similar incident happened not too long later where coffee was thrown onto another man who was sitting outside.

Neither victim was hurt.

Police say a recording of the second incident was posted on Facebook by one of the members of the group.

A 14-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was found and is from the Wadena area is facing two counts of assault with a weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in court on December 5th.
