One man is dead and another injured after a shooting in Lac La Ronge.

RCMP say the incident happened in the Mikisiw residential area on Thursday.

Police say while being transported to the hospital, one man was pronounced dead and the second is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

It is believed this is not a random incident.

RCMP say the area around Mikisiw Drive will be blocked off for an undetermined amount of time.

An autopsy for the deceased man is scheduled for Friday.
