Regina man faces more jail time after escaping custody

A Regina man has been sentenced to more jail time, after escaping lawful custody in Yorkton.

It happened at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, while 25-year-old Joey Tataquason was being transported from Prince Albert to Winnipeg.

Court was told Tataquason escaped from the vehicle he was in, while stopped at a red light.

Police eventually arrested him near the Yorkton Public Library.

In Yorkton Provincial Court Wednesday morning, Tataquason was sentenced to an additional three months in jail, on top of the sentence he was already serving for robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.
