Rainfall totals vary across the province

Saskatchewan saw some much-needed rain this weekend, but not all places received a good soaking.

Environment Canada says 6o hour rainfall totals as of 4 a.m. Monday morning show the Regina region received just six millimeters of rain, but Saskatoon received 48 millimeters with the Battlefords seeing 43 mm.

Terri Lang with the weather office says that while Regina and Moose Jaw did not see a lot of rain either did Swift Current with the most rain following in the west and northwest part of the grainbelt.

Lang says more rain is expected this week.

“We are in one of those unsettled weather patterns meaning the air is unstable.” Lang said. “There is a system moving through the southeast corner that should result in some rain, under 10 millimeters or so, and then we will be in this unsettled pattern meaning hit and miss with more rain and more wind expected this weekend.”
