A notice of workplace reorganization has been handed to 500 unionized staff members at the Pioneer Village.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says there are too many staff for the declining number of people in the nursing home.

There are now 172 residents in the facility.

The exodus is being blamed on the building’s deterioration.

Earlier this year, the province called for proposals on the building repair or repair, but options are still being looked at.
