Regina man in custody after stealing classic car

A Regina man is facing charges after a break and enter Tuesday night.

At around 10:20 pm, Regina Police received a call about a vehicle that had been stolen from a business on the 200 block of Albert Street.

According to the report, the vehicle was parked inside the shop belonging to the business. The suspect drive the vehicle through the closed garage door and sped away northbound on Albert Street.

The 1983 Porsche 944 was spotted by officers in Glen Elm. A short time later a man was arrested without further incident, police seen evidence on the man consistent with the break and enter scene.

34-year-old Samuel Wariat has been charged with break and enter and commit theft, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and breach of conditions.

Wariat made his first appearance in court on Wednesday morning.
