RPS search for suspects involved in a taxi robbery

Regina Police are looking for information on a robbery involving a taxi driver.

Officers were called to the 4200 block of Dewdney Avenue for the report at about 10:40pm Tuesday.

Preliminary investigation shows the taxi driver took a man and woman from the 1300 block of Athol Street to  restaurant on the 4200 block of Dewdney.

When the driver asked for payment, the man handed him some money. Police say when the driver went to make change, he realized the man had grabbed the pouch that he kept all his money in.

The driver got the pouch back but it was missing all the money.

RPS says the driver got out of the cab to challenge the suspects but the man pushed him to the ground and fled on foot.

The driver sustained minor injuries.

Police say the man is described as 25-30-years-old, about 5’7″, thin build, short hair and wearing a black hoodie and jeans. The woman is described as being about 5’3″, thin build, long hair and wearing a jacket.

The investigation is ongoing.
