The Saskatchewan Rush opened the 2019-2020 National Lacrosse League (NLL) season with a 9-8 win over the Colorado Mammoth on Friday night in Denver.
Robert Church lead the way offensively with an eight-point night, tallying three goals and five helpers. Mark Matthews picked up a goal and four assists.
Rush goalie Evan Kirk stopped 34 shots in the victory.
Next for Saskatchewan is their home opener on December 14th versus New England.
The Calgary Roughnecks also picked up an opening night victory with a 12-7 win against the Vancouver Warriors. This is the earliest the NLL has started the regular season.
