Saskatoon massage therapist sentenced to four years for sexual assault

Former Saskatoon massage therapist, Mark Donlevy apologized in court Monday morning prior to being sentenced to four years in prison for six counts of sexual assault.

“I’d like to apologize from the deepest depths of my heart. It was never my intention or my desires to harm anyone. I am regretful, I am remorseful and I am truly sorry.”

Donlevy will serve the four years consecutively to the three-year sentence he is currently serving for a previous sexual assault.

The crown had been seeking a seven-and-a-half year sentence for Donlevy while the defense was asking for a two-to-three year sentence.

Justice Brian Scherman said four years is the appropriate sentence for Donlevy given his existing sentence, age and health. He also ordered that Donlevy, 51, serve his sentence in a federal penitentiary.

Defense lawyer, Alan McIntyre says they’ll review what the judge has said and discuss with Donlevy what approach should be taken, if anything.

Donlevy is currently appealing his previous three-year sentence.
