NDP raise concern about doctor burn-out in Sask

The NDP is raising concern about doctor burn-out in Saskatchewan.

Opposition critic Vicki Mowat says Saskatchewan has the second lower number of doctors per person in Canada and two out of 3 doctors are at risk of burning out.

Health minister Jim Reiter says the province has launched a serious plan to increase the number of doctors.

He says there are more seats in the college of physicians and incentives are in place for rural doctors.

Reiter says several other plans are in place to recruit more doctors to Saskatchewan.

He points out the province has 900 more doctors than under the NDP.
