Canada wide COVID-19 tracking app on the horizon

Justin Trudeau says a nation-wide app to trace COVID-19 will be rolling out soon, as the country reopens, and the economy starts rolling again.

At his briefing in Ottawa, the Prime Minister says it’s voluntary, but will be most effective if as many people as possible use it.

“Here’s how it’s going to work, if you test positive for COVID-19 a health care professional will help you upload your status anonymously to a national network, other users who have the app that have been in proximity to you will then be alerted that they’ve been exposed to someone who has tested positive.”

Trudeau said at no time will personal information will be collected.
