Four face drug trafficking related charges after late night search

Four people are facing drug trafficking related charges after a search of a Regina home.

RPS says on Wednesday night, officers searched a home on the 2300 block of Smith Street and a vehicle.

Police say two men had left the home in the vehicle with officers stopping and arresting them. One of the men had a large sum of money on them.

RPS says in the home police seized a loaded 45-calibre handgun, money and a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking.

Two women were also arrested from the home.

Police say 37-year-old Carlson King and 68-year-old Leroy Lake of Calgary, as well as 34-year-old Alexis Yasinowski and 33-year-old Kerry Lerat of Regina are charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

King is facing an addition seven weapons related charges and both Lerat and Lake face an addition charge of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

All four make their first court appearance on Thursday.
