In commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Peace, people gathered outside Regina’s city hall for a flagraising Tuesday morning.
The flag will fly at city hall until the morning of September 22nd.
Local organizers said their thoughts this year were with the people of Ukraine, and they called on all nations, including Canada, to push for a negotiated settlement.
They said that closer to home, there is the violence of poverty, homelessness, racism, sexism and homophobia.
Three local peace-related groups were involved.
