The road teams were the victors in the opening weekend home and home set between the Regina Pats and the Moose Jaw Warriors, with Regina picking up a 6-3 win on Saturday night.
After going pointless in the first encounter, Connor Bedard led the way for the Pats in their first victory as he scored a hat trick. Borya Valis, Parker Berge and Easton Armstrong also scored for Regina.
Regina had a slight edge in shots a 39-37. The Pats were 0/1 on the PP while Moose Jaw was 0/5.
Drew Sim picked up the win for Regina as he made 34 saves in the win.
The Pats are now off until Thursday when they begin a three game Alberta road trip against Edmonton. Following the matchup against the Oil Kings, the Pats will meet the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday and then round out the trip with a matinee affair against the Hitmen in Calgary.
