Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Jake Dolegala has been suspended after being charged with impaired driving.

In a statement, the Riders said that Dolegala informed the team that he was arrested in Regina over the bye week and charged with impaired driving.

“Drinking and driving is a significant problem in our province, one that can have dangerous consequences, and we are disappointed in Jake for his actions,” the Riders said in a media release.

The team added that they are taking the the incident seriously, suspended Dolegala for one game, and notified the league office.

Dolegala is set to address the media after Monday afternoon’s practice.
