Sask farmers encouraged to report more rural crime

Farmers are being encouraged to report more rural crime to RCMP.

The president of Farmers Against Rural Crime, Nick Cornea, says it is important for farmers to tell the RCMP all incidents of rural crime.

He sees it as a key to prevention of a growing problem in rural areas.

He says any suspicious vehicles, people stopping in rural yards and other questionable behavior should be reported to the RCMP.

Cornea was part of a panel discussion on rural crime at the Canada Farm Progress Show.

He also encourages rural residents to sign up to the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network to be better informed.
