Over 400 impaired driving charges issued by police in SK last month

Some in Saskatchewan are still making a bad decision when it comes to drinking and driving.
411 impaired driving charges were issued in May including 339 charges under the Criminal Code as results from the May traffic safety spotlight come out.
Despite numbers showing that less and less people are getting behind the wheel when they have had too much to drink, impaired driving is still the leading cause of death on Saskatchewan’s roads as 21 people were killed last year.
Other numbers from the May traffic safety spotlight show 356 distracted driving tickets being handed out with 257 of those for cellphone use; 742 tickets for speeding and aggressive driving and 315 tickets for seatbelts and child restraint being used incorrectly or not at all.
