Former Saskatchewan premier Brad Wall says he is flattered to hear people say he should run for the federal Conservative leadership, but he is saying no thanks to that and wants to throw cold water on any possibility of it happening sooner than later.
Wall spoke to 620 CKRM from his Swift Current home Friday morning and says his days as a politician are over which is something he is OK with.
“I’m not interested in elected politics anymore.” Wall said. “I’m going to continue to be involved in issues and commenting on them because they are important to me, but I don’t want to discuss them while seeking elected office.

Wall, who stepped down as Saskatchewan’s Premier in 2018 after more than a decade on the job, says while he isn’t interested, he does think the right person for the job would be former Conservative interim party leader Rona Ambrose. She served in that position when Stephen Harper resigned after losing the 2015 federal election.
Wall feels she checks off all the boxes with one of those boxes being she is from Western Canada. Wall says that may prevent a possible Wexit federal party from coming in and splitting the vote.
While Ambrose has made no intentions as to whether or not she will seek the leadership, Wall does admit that if she were to ask him to assist in any way that he probably would say yes.
