Lights, camera, action. Summerbash movie nights to continue

Summerbash will be continuing its movie nights all summer even though the plug was pulled on another group that was holding drive-in shows at the Northgate Mall.

Summerbash spokesperson Adam Hicks says they have a different movie licencing agreement because they are a non-profit organization.

“As theatres open up, they want to play the newer releases essentially.  That leaves us with some of the older releases, but we can still show hundreds and hundreds of movies they just might be a little older. ” Hicks said.  ‘We’re not worried about making money and selling out as a non-profit.  We also have a good relationship with our licencing companies because we have been doing it for three years now.”

Summerbash had gone to a different location this year as they moved from an area in Harbour Landing to the University of Regina, but there will be a new home starting next weekend as Hicks says they will be moving to a lot at the Regina Airport which he is looking forward to.

Moviegoers can check out Wonder Woman on Friday night and Captain Marvel on Saturday at the University with Moana, Frozen 2 and The Breakfast Club going next weekend with movie nights planned for the rest of July and August as well with the announcement of what shows will be playing being made at a future date.
