Canadian Tire helps the Christmas kettle campaign after the potential of a loss

The Canadian Tire on north Albert Street is stepping up to fill a void created by a fire at the Rochdale Boulevard Walmart last week.

That store still hasn’t re-opened meaning one location for the annual Salvation Army Christmas kettle campaign was unavailable meaning a potential loss of some funds.

Canadian Tire says they will come to the Salvation Army’s aid and have the kettle campaign moved to their store.

Walmart Canada matches kettle donations at each of their locations and has told the Salvation Army they will give them what they gave them last year.

The Salvation Army says any business wanting to play host to their kettle campaign can give them a call.

The kettle campaign sees money raised go to things like Christmas hampers for those less fortunate and helping send kids to camp.
